Mother and Daughter, Both Diagnosed with Breast Cancer!
They share their story in the link below.

Joyce and Shanae are mother and daughter--and breast cancer survivors. Joyce was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in 2023. Less than a year later, Shanae was diagnosed with stage 1A triple positive breast cancer.

“I could not believe my child had cancer, too,” Joyce said. “But my doctors became her doctors, they all knew her, and she already knew them, and she saw how they cared for and treated me," Joyce said.

Don't Wait Until Age 40 to Get A Mammogram!
Sisters Network® Inc. and Win With Black Women are joining forces to remind you that your breast health can’t wait! Age 40 shouldn’t be the first time you start thinking about breast cancer. Knowing your body, your family history, understanding your risk, and advocating for your health should start long before then.
Be prepared to speak up, ask questions and advocate for yourself as well as your health.
This October, we’re calling on women, especially Black women to make a commitment to their breast health.
Take the DON’T WAIT BEFORE 40 Pledge today! Visit sistersnetworkinc.org to join the movement.
The young lady on the right is Anika Rashaun, known for MTV’s The Real World and The Challenge. On October 1st, 2026, she lost her life at age 34, after a stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis. May she rest in peace.
So please, consider a mammogram before age 40, if warranted.

Breast Cancer Screening by Risk
Breast cancer screening isn’t one-size-fits-all, especially when hereditary risk is part of the picture. Know your risk factors, learn more below!

📌 Save This: Breast Cancer Screening by Risk

Breast cancer screening isn’t one-size-fits-all, especially when hereditary risk is part of the picture.

For people who carry a hereditary cancer mutation, screening may be more frequent and can involve multiple imaging methods, including mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI, used at different points throughout the year.

Your family history, breast density, personal medical history, and specific genetic mutation can all help shape the screening plan that’s right for you.

Know your risk, then work with your healthcare team to build a screening plan around it. 💗

Screening recommendations vary based on individual risk and medical guidance. Always confirm your personal screening plan with your healthcare provider.
