Day 2 of our Culinary School midterms brought some serious talent to the kitchen as our Newark students took their turn in the spotlight! 🌟

Their challenge? Take RAPA Scrapple, a Delaware breakfast staple, and transform it into a dish that's anything but ordinary! 🍽️

From scrapple churros to stuffed shells, our students wowed the judges with their creativity, culinary skills and delicious dishes.

Earlier today, our Milford Culinary School students showcased their creativity and culinary skills by preparing original dishes featuring Rapa Scrapple, generously donated by our local producer.

This year marks Rapa's 100th anniversary, a milestone celebrated earlier this month at the annual Apple-Scrapple Festival in nearby Bridgeville. We were proud to incorporate this iconic Delaware product into the competition.

During the timed cook-off, students developed and prepared their own recipes, impressing judges with both their innovation and ex*****on. The results were delicious!

It's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Join our friends from 94.7 WDSD Delaware's Country Station and 92.9 Tomfm for the annual Turkey Round Up! The stations will be collecting frozen turkeys, nonperishable and monetary donations outside the Food Lion in Middletown and the Food Lion off Route 8 in Dover on November 12 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.! 🍁🦃

Nearly three years after joining the Food Bank, Amanda’s passion for serving neighbors shines through in everything she does. As the coordinator at our Milford Healthy Pantry Center, she fosters a welcoming environment, supports volunteers, and helps connect families with nutritious food and resources.

Because Amanda recalls her childhood memories of going to a food pantry with her mother weren’t all positive experiences, she wants our neighbors to feel respected.

Thank you, Amanda, for your compassion, hard work, and dedication to our mission.

What a perfect evening for our W**e & Oyster Dinner! 🦪🍷

This special evening, held Oct. 8, was a popular auction item from our Mission in Motion fundraiser in June at our Newark facility. But beyond the delicious food and beautiful setting, it was an evening that left a lasting impression on our Culinary School students.

The evening began with a tour of James Farm Ecological Preserve near Bethany Beach, followed by a special autumn-inspired menu with w**e pairings from Twin Branch W**ery.

The most meaningful part of the evening wasn't what was served on the plates. It was how our students felt. ❤️

Throughout the evening, our guests embraced our students with genuine warmth, encouragement and appreciation for their hard work and talents. The impact of that kindness was especially evident on the van ride back to Milford, when students became emotional reflecting on the experience. They felt seen, valued and celebrated for what they had accomplished.

To our guests, thank you for making this evening so special. Your kindness and encouragement meant more to our students than you may ever know. This is what our workforce training programs are all about, building skills, confidence and opportunities for a brighter future. ❤️

We are looking forward to participating in this year's Helping Hands Gala with our friends from the St. Ann's Men's Club, Knights of Columbus and Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Proceeds will support the Food Bank, and guests will enjoy dinner, cocktails, dancing, a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing. Thank you, Coast TV, for helping to spread the word! Thank you to all who joined our Newark and Milford Kitchen School students for their Wednesday cafe day! The students wowed guests with both their kitchen and customer service skills.

They are already looking forward to next week's lunch, so be sure to join us Wednesday, Oct. 21, for a build-your-own burrito bowl in Milford and a festive Oktoberfest lunch in Newark!
