State Chairman Drew McKissick is excited to announce The SCGOP U.S. Senate Debate. Set for Monday, August 3rd from 7–8 PM, in partnership with Gray Media.

Following the death of the Republican Party nominee for U.S. Senate, a special Republican Party filing period and special primary will be held pursuant to S.C. Code of Laws Section 7-11-55.

Candidate filing opens July 21 and closes July 28. The Special Republican Primary will be held on August 11, with a runoff on August 25, if necessary.

This is who is eligible to vote in the special primary in August.

The South Carolina State Election Commission has completed its evaluation of existing South Carolina election law to determine voter eligibility for the August 11 Special Republican Primary. Based on that evaluation, voters who participated in the June Democratic Primary are not eligible to vote in the August 11 Special Republican Primary. Voters who either participated in the June Republican Primary or did not vote in either party’s June primary are eligible to vote in the August 11 Special Republican Primary.
