October is Pedestrian Safety Month!

Did you know that more than 3 out of 4 pedestrian fatalities occur in the dark?

As daylight hours get shorter, the Laconia Police Department reminds drivers and pedestrians to take extra precautions.

🚶 Pedestrians: Use crosswalks whenever available, stay alert, and never assume a driver sees you. Make eye contact before crossing.

🚗 Drivers: Slow down, eliminate distractions, and watch carefully for pedestrians, especially during early morning and evening hours.

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Let's work together to keep Laconia's roads safe for everyone.
