๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš“๐Ÿš‘ WHAT A NIGHT, NEWCASTLE!

Touch-A-Truck: Newcastle Night Out is officially in the books, and judging by the smiles, the honking horns and the number of kids who climbed into just about everything they could find, weโ€™d call it a pretty great night! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

A huge THANK YOU to all the families who came out and spent the evening with usโ€”and to everyone who brought vehicles, equipment, demonstrations and their time to give our kids a chance to explore, ask questions and get their hands on some seriously cool stuff.

These pictures tell the story better than we can. Lots of families, lots of kids, lots of smilesโ€”and a whole lot of fun. โค๏ธ

Thank you, Newcastle, for another fantastic night!

๐Ÿš“ TODAYโ€™S THE DAY!

Iโ€™ve been working behind the scenes to put Touch-A-Truck: Newcastle Night Out together, and tonight we finally get to have some fun with it!

Weโ€™ll have police cars, fire engines, ambulances, heavy equipment and some pretty interesting machines all in one place. Bring the kids out to climb in, look around, touch stuff, ask questions, meet the people who operate itโ€”and yes, somebody will absolutely find the horn. ๐Ÿšจ

Thereโ€™s a LOT to see and explore, and Iโ€™m excited for everyone to finally experience what weโ€™ve been putting together.

Come find me and say hiโ€”Iโ€™ll be the reserve officer trying to look like everything is going exactly according to plan. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

(9-1-1 service should be working normally again - UPDATED AT 8:25 AM Thu Sept 24)๏ฟผ

9-1-1 Routing Advisory

A statewide 9-1-1 routing issue is currently affecting a significant portion of Oklahoma. You should still call 9-1-1 for emergencies. At this time, there have been no reports of 9-1-1 calls going unanswered.

Because of the routing issue, some calls may be answered outside the callerโ€™s normal area or may be delivered through alternate phone lines rather than normal 9-1-1 call-taking equipment.

For emergencies occurring in Newcastle, callers may also contact our administrative line directly at 405-387-5525.

Callers should be prepared to clearly provide their exact location, callback number, and the nature of the emergency.

AT&T is working to correct the issue, but there is currently no estimated time for restoration.

As we reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, we are reminded that it is in our nature to encounter adversity and to rise to meet the occasion.

We remember the men and women who responded that day in New York and Washington, D.C.; the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who acted with extraordinary courage over Pennsylvania; those who made the ultimate sacrifice; and those who have continued to serve and meet the needs of an ever-changing world.

September 11, 2001, was a day when our Nation shared a moment of profound heartbreak, but it also reminded us that we are stronger than we realize and that what unites us is stronger than what divides us.

We will never forget.

Newcastle Police Department was honored to join the Newcastle Fire Department and McClain-Grady EMS for the 3rd Annual First Responders Luncheon, hosted by the Newcastle Early Childhood Center!

The luncheon gave our officers and fellow first responders a wonderful opportunity to enjoy lunch, visit and share plenty of smiles with the students. We appreciate the warm welcome and thank the staff and children for making this event so special!
