Lt. Christopher DeWolf’s profession led him to take an active role following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Video Producer Jude Coke and her two-person crew — cameraman Billy DeWeese and firefighter and emergency response content adviser Christopher DeWolf — had traveled to the East Coast for a routine firefighter training video assignment with the Baltimore City Fire Department.

After learning that American Airlines Flight 77 had struck the Pentagon, they headed toward Washington and followed firefighters being mobilized for the response.

Their background producing emergency responder training content, combined with DeWolf’s fire service experience, helped the team establish credibility with incident command. They ultimately received permission to document the response on behalf of the Arlington County (Va.) Fire Department.

Much of the footage was initially used within the emergency responder training community. Over time, the collection became the only known surviving complete archive of the footage.

The Pentagon Response Series, which can be viewed here: https://the911legacy.org/pentagon-response-series/ was presented by the 9/11 Legacy Foundation in partnership with Jude Coke.

The series also preserves the contribution of DeWolf, who later traveled to New York to continue documenting the emergency response there. He died in the line of duty in 2005.

DeWolf also made a children's video about dealing with grief after the terrorist attacks.

We Will Never Forget.

September 11, 2001 – Twenty-five years later we still remember, as if we never stopped holding our breath while watching it unfold. Slow moments of disbelief…

Today we remember the 2,977 lives lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the courage of the first responders who ran towards danger when others were running to safety.

We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, along with the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members and countless others who answered the call that day, and in the days, months and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later we remember their sacrifice, and we remember the way our Nation came together. We were forever changed, and we will never forget.
