🍩 The Salvation Army Lassies stepped onto the front lines of WWI with one mission: bring comfort where it was most needed.
A warm doughnut became a reminder that someone cared, and that one act of love has rippled through generations.
Today, hundreds of families across The Salvation Army find comfort, support, and hope through our programs.
🍩National Doughnut Day celebrates kindness that still changes lives.

Heavenly Father,
Today, we thank You for Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your endless love. We ask that You guide our steps, strengthen our hearts, and fill us with compassion for those around us.
Bless the families who are struggling, the individuals facing uncertainty, and those carrying burdens that seem too heavy to bear. Provide comfort to the hurting, hope to the discouraged, healing to the sick, and peace to those battling fear and anxiety.
Help us to be Your hands and feet in our community—serving others with kindness, generosity, and grace. Open our eyes to opportunities to share Your love and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
May Your light shine through us today, and may we be a source of encouragement to everyone we meet.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.

More than a century ago, the “Donut Lassies” entered the WWI huts with hands full of flour, sugar, and the honest intention to lift the spirits of the soldiers who were far from home. Against all odds, that small act of kindness made a lasting difference.
On June 7, 1938, The Salvation Army first celebrated National Doughnut Day as a fundraiser during the Great Depression to support families facing hardship. A wonderful act that mirrored and honored the legacy of those courageous women.
Today, at The Salvation Army, we carry this purpose forward each day, meeting local needs with love and compassion.
A simple recipe in action.
A lasting impact.
Because from the very beginning, the first ingredient was love.

As we close out Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The Salvation Army would like to take this moment to thank all of our AAPI neighbors and community members who dedicate their time to serving our mission.
This includes our staff, volunteers, donors, and church members across our community.
We are endlessly grateful for all of your meaningful service, and we can’t wait to see what we all do together in the year to come. ❤️

Heavenly Father,
As we welcome this Friday morning, we thank You for the gift of a new day and for Your faithfulness throughout this week. Fill our hearts with gratitude, our minds with peace, and our spirits with hope.

Help us to reflect Your love through acts of kindness, compassion, and service. May we trust You with every challenge and rejoice in every blessing, knowing that You are always with us.
As we head into the weekend, keep our families safe, our communities strong, and our hearts focused on Your goodness.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
