šŸ‘Š A fist bump. A connection. A reminder that someone believes in you.

During National Principals’ Month, we’re celebrating James Byrd, principal of Bend Middle School! This moment with a student reflects the belief at the heart of his leadership: when people know you believe in them, they can accomplish great things.

Mr. Byrd is especially grateful for a faculty that cares deeply about students—the kind of adults he says he needed in his own life at their age.

What IGNITES him? Knowing his actions can open doors of opportunity for others. He encourages staff and students to see what’s possible, believe in growth, and keep working toward success—even when it takes time to see the progress.

šŸ’¬ ā€œSuccess is not final; failure is not fatal.ā€

Thank you, Mr. Byrd, for IGNITING confidence, believing in your school community, and helping students discover what they can achieve! šŸ”„

šŸ”„ One team. Our students. A shared spark for success.

During National Principals’ Month, we’re celebrating Heather Kelly, principal of Mountain View Elementary School (pictured right)! With colorful leis, smiles, and decorated refreshment carts, this photo captures the fun and appreciation that help bring a school team together.

What Ms. Kelly loves most about Mountain View is that everyone pitches in for kids. Regardless of title or department, staff support one another and share the same purpose: doing what’s best for our students.

What IGNITES her? Growth—watching people discover what they’re capable of. She spreads that spark by believing in others, recognizing their strengths, giving them opportunities to lead, and celebrating their progress.

šŸ”„ Learning starts with connection—and knowing someone cares.

During National Principals’ Month, we’re celebrating Neil Everett, principal of Mill Creek Middle School! Pictured alongside students in the classroom, Mr. Everett is right where the relationships that fuel his work take shape.

His favorite part of being a principal is connecting with students, families, and the community. He treasures Mill Creek’s exceptional students and the families who enthusiastically support their school and the Bandys feeder community.

What IGNITES him? Knowing students have a safe, fun place to learn and feel cared for as individuals. He wants every student to know they are loved—and that learning includes how to apologize, correct mistakes, and move forward.

šŸ’¬ ā€œThe most powerful is he who has himself in his own power.ā€ — Seneca

Thank you, Mr. Everett, for IGNITING belonging, encouraging growth, and leading with care for our Mill Creek Knights! šŸ”„
