In the mid 1950s, Newton Memorial Hospital administration approached a bright group of civic leaders to replace the over-burdened hospital ambulance service. Today, the Newton First Aid Squad is requested to nearly 2,000 medical emergencies annually.

🚑 Newton EMS at Newton High School’s Career Fair! 🩺

Today, members of Newton EMS had the pleasure of connecting with students at Newton High School’s Career Fair to share our passion for emergency medical services and the endless opportunities that begin with joining our organization!

Through hands-on learning and valuable certifications, including CPR and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, students gain real-world experience and build a strong foundation for their future in healthcare. Whether their goal is to become a nurse, physician assistant, physician, or pursue another career in the medical field, Newton EMS helps students take meaningful steps toward their goals!

We couldn’t be more excited to be at Newton High School, inspiring and empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals. The future of medicine starts here, and we’re proud to be part of their journey!

We have multiple crews out at Newton High School tonight as the Newton Braves take on the Vernon Vikings in the home varsity football game!

Thank you to the Newton Braves Football for recognizing the community first responders at tonight's game in honor of the 25th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

This morning, at the Sussex County 9/11 Memorial ceremony, we took time to reflect upon and remember an event that changed the course of our nation and our way of life.

Twenty-five years ago, nearly 3000 civilians, public safety personnel, and members of our military perished in our generation's worst flashbulb memory.

The impact of this event shall forever remain as we not only honor the memories of those lost but also the lives of those continuing to suffer.

Project Self Sufficiency is rocking it today with services like free backpacks, haircuts, and supplies for families actively engaged with the agency - plus connections to healthcare, case management, fun kid activities, and more!

Another Fall EMT Class Begins! 🚑

Last night, five of our members officially began their journey toward becoming certified Emergency Medical Technicians! This is the beginning of a challenging road, but we couldn’t be more excited or incredibly impressed of each of them for stepping up and taking on this opportunity to serve our community.

There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but together, we know they’ll succeed. We’re looking forward to seeing them out on the road in early 2027, beginning Field Training and putting their skills to work helping people in their time of need.

To our newest EMT students: Good luck, guys and girls! You’ve got this!

We’re proud of you and can’t wait to see where this journey takes you!

We couldn’t be prouder of our Newton EMS Operations Manager Brandon Posey and his wife, fellow EMT/RN Roberta Muresan, on their marriage!

Mr. & Mrs. Posey have been a true inspiration to our organization, and we couldn’t be happier for them as they begin this exciting new chapter together.

We look forward to their future together, and to continuing to serve our community alongside them as one united team with the rest of our Newton EMS family.

Come on down to Memory Park from now to 8pm and interact with all of the Newton community's public safety organizations as we put on demonstrations, answer questions, and hand out lots of free stuff!

Be sure to come find us for some ice cream! Try your hand(s) at our CPR kiosk! Tour our ambulance! Get some free stuff!
