No. Beth and Jennifer aren’t moving in. But they did make themselves right at home.

Last week, they joined members of the Burrton City Council to tour Prime Craftsman Homes and learn more about how they are reimagining manufactured homes and affordable housing in communities across Kansas.

From the homes to the craftsmanship behind them, we were excited to see their innovations firsthand and explore opportunities to make housing more accessible across Harvey County.

We love it when businesses become friends.

Today that meant lunch with Donna D’Amico-Annitto, who moved from the East Coast in 2010 to help Park Aerospace Corp. grow its Kansas operations. We’re pretty glad she did.

Located at the Airport Industrial Park, Park designs and manufactures advanced composites, including parts that have made their way to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Growth is about more than jobs and investment. It’s also about relationships with the people behind them. We’re grateful Donna and Park Aerospace call Harvey County home.

We joined more than 100 economic development peers at the Kansas Economic Development Alliance Annual Meeting in Wichita to talk about the issues shaping our communities, from quality of place and workforce health to AI readiness, communication and, yes, data centers.

Staying informed, sharing ideas and strengthening partnerships across the state helps us bring better thinking and more opportunity to Harvey County.

The future of flight has a new address. Right here at home.

We were excited to work alongside Shield AI as they establish X-Forge 2 at the Newton City-County Airport. X-Forge 2 brings new energy, innovation and opportunity to the airport and our region. And another reason for the world to pay attention to what’s happening in Harvey County.

We’re ready for takeoff.

Our economic development work doesn't just happen in Harvey County. Sometimes it happens over lunch in St. Louis.

This week, HCEDC Executive Director Beth Shelton was part of a Team Kansas site selector lunch in St. Louis, along with representatives from three other Kansas communities. We connected with 18 professionals who help companies decide where to locate and expand.

We’re excited about these 18 new relationships. Representing 18 more opportunities to put Harvey County in the conversation when businesses are looking for their next place to grow.

We're proud to work alongside our state and regional partners to keep Harvey County part of those conversations.

Jennifer Mueller represented Harvey County this week at IMTS (The International Manufacturing Technology Show) in Chicago. IMTS is the largest manufacturing tech show in the Western Hemisphere, where nearly 90,000 people from across the manufacturing world gathered to connect, learn and look ahead.

Jennifer made intentional connections with site selectors and industry leaders, sharing what’s happening in Harvey County and learning more about what manufacturers are looking for as they consider where to grow next.

Growth opportunities often start with small conversations. We’re making sure Harvey County is part of them.

We welcomed a full house of business, industry and civic leaders from across Harvey County today for our 2026 HCEDC Annual Meeting at the Meridian Center in Newton.

Jeremy Hill, Regional Executive & Assistant Vice President for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, presented an economic outlook for what’s happening nationally, statewide and right here at home. From tariffs and inflationary pressures to wages, employment and consumer behavior, he provided key insights, trends and perspectives to help businesses and manufacturers calculate risks and move forward in our current economy.

Thank you to the many businesses, industry partners and civic leaders who joined us today. Growth doesn’t happen because of any one organization. It happens when a community works together, and we’re grateful for everyone helping move Harvey County forward.

Nothing brings a community together quite like ice cream. Nearly 175 people came out for GAF’s community ice cream social. It was a chance to meet the team, ask questions and hear more about what’s ahead for production and hiring.

We loved seeing so many people show up, connect and welcome GAF to the community. This is what growing together looks like.

A groundbreaking is more than the start of a new facility. It's a sign of confidence.

Last week, we joined APAC to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new materials processing plant in the Newton Industrial Park.

Our first conversations with APAC began nearly two years ago as we helped explore potential sites and evaluate options for the project. Seeing that work become reality is a reminder that growth often starts long before the shovels hit the ground.

The project brings new jobs, new investment and another example of the industrial momentum taking shape in Harvey County. As companies continue to invest here, we're seeing the power of strong partnerships and long-term planning come to life.

We were honored to celebrate with the Newton, KS City Government, Senator Stephen Owens, Representative Avery Anderson and King For Kansas

We're proud to be part of the story.
