It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doti Bosi, wife of Life Member Charlie Bosi. Doti was a spark of energy in our department family, bringing spirit and enthusiasm to every dinner she attended. Her presence will not be forgotten. Condolences to her daughters Karen, Donna, and Annemarie, and her extended family. Godspeed, Doti. May your journey lead you to a joyous reunion with your beloved Charlie.

September 21 - WHAT TO DO ON THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER

Our members recently spent time sharpening their skills during a vehicle extrication drill, focusing on the tools and techniques needed to safely remove patients from a damaged vehicle.

Training included hands-on use of the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic rescue tools, along with practicing stabilization, vehicle access, cutting and spreading techniques, and coordinated patient extrication.

These drills allow our firefighters to build confidence, improve teamwork, and stay prepared for the challenges they may face on the roadway.

A big thank you to our members for putting in the time and effort to keep their skills sharp!

Today, members of the Andover Township Fire Department participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at MetLife Stadium, organized by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Alongside Sparta Township Fire Department and Fredon Fire Department our members climbed together in honor and remembrance of the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

We climb for those who never made it home. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their legacy.

Great job by all! Thank you for your time and effort. We know there was a lot of preparation and are proud of all of you.

We couldn’t be prouder of one of our own. Our longtime volunteer firefighter, Paige Hennighan who now serves in Houston, Texas, was recently honored with the Star of Texas Award, one of the highest recognitions bestowed by the State of Texas for first responders who have demonstrated extraordinary courage and sacrifice.

While serving in the line of duty, Paige Hennighan was seriously injured after falling from a roof. Despite the challenges that followed, her courage, dedication and commitment to protecting others never wavered.

At a recent ceremony, Paige received the Star of Texas in recognition of her bravery and sacrifice. This honor is a tremendous reflection of the character and dedication she has shown throughout her career — both here with our department and now in Houston.

We are thankful she has recovered from her injuries and is eager to get back to serving the public.

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, members of our department will participate in the 2nd Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at MetLife Stadium. This event is held to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the attacks on September 11, 2001.

This year, ATFD Firefighters Jack Bescherer, Teddy Leenstra and Ryan Grycuk will be taking on the challenge in full turnout gear, climbing the equivalent of the World Trade Center's 110 stories as a tribute to the courage, dedication and selfless service of those who never made it home.

We are asking for your support. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help support this meaningful event and its mission of remembering the fallen while supporting the fire service community.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated.
