Corporal Addonizio responded to a motor vehicle crash on the North Main Street curve after a male driver lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle struck and destroyed a mailbox before crashing into a tree. The impact was significant enough to snap off a signpost, which became embedded in the tree.

Newton Fire responded to the scene and transported the driver to Exeter Hospital for evaluation.

Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash.

A big thank you to Newton Selectman Ashley Silvia for organizing a wonderful event and inviting us to participate in Wednesday’s successful Walk, Bike, or Roll to Memorial School!

We’d also like to thank CBI for allowing us to use their property and for handing out goodie bags to the kids. A special thanks to School Superintendent Houghton for joining us and leading the students in a fun stretch session to get everyone moving!

And last but certainly not least, a huge shout out to our office manager, Katrina Russo, who worked behind the scenes with Ashley to help make the event a success, including purchasing refreshments and treats for the kiddos.

It’s that time of year again! Throughout October, members of the Newton Police Department will be growing our beards out or wearing blue to help raise money supporting local Child Advocacy Centers (CAC’s). These CAC’s promote help, healing, and justice for child victims of abuse by providing coordinated investigation and forensic interviews, family support, and referrals to medical and mental health care, all at no cost to families. Your support will make a meaningful difference for children and families right here in our community.
