💵 Congratulations to Jessica Redding, Assistant to Edgmont Township Manager Ken Kynett on drafting a very successful grant submission!

In collaboration with Edgmont Supervisor Annie Thorne Edgmont Supervisor Lindsey Conan and Edgmont Supervisor David Teter and Senator John Kane we worked with Edgmont to secure over $300,000 in state gaming revenue grant funds to support renovations to the Edgmont Township building. This project will remove harmful asbestos from the lower level of the building and create a new community meeting space!

Great job Jess on a well-written grant and Edgmont on a well thought out project! Let’s bring more state funds home!

Senator Tim Kearney and I were thrilled to join the Newtown Township, Delaware County Board of Supervisors and the players, families, and friends of Newtown Edgmont Little League - NELL to celebrate the District Champion 10U and 12U teams! As a long-time little league mom, I know how special these accomplishments are for the players, how hard they work, and how much time and effort league leadership and parents put into making this a positive and fun experience.

Senator Kearney and I were also thrilled to advocate for and bring state funding to support NELL! Several months ago, Leonard Altieri-Newtown Township Supervisor brought NELL leader Joe Geary to my office to talk about ways we could secure funding to support connecting NELL's bathroom facilities to the public sewer. With the help of Laura Goodrich Carins and the Delaware County Economic Development Corporation, this sustainability project caught the eye of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and we were able to secure over $400k to make this project a reality.

Congratulations NELL!

Last week I stopped by the Wayne Art Center to present Executive Director, Nancy Campbell, with $100,000 for the roofing replacement project that was recently completed. The Wayne Masonic Hall is home to the majority of WAC’s arts education classes. However, the building’s roof had not been replaced since WAC purchased the property in 1999 and had reached the end of its useful life causing leaks and damage to ceilings and painting studios below.

The project included the removal and disposal of the old roofing materials; installation of new shingles, flashing, and gutters; masonry repairs to the chimney; painting and drywall repairs associated with the project; and the materials and equipment necessary to complete the work.

Wayne Art Center is a creative hub and cultural touchstone in the region, and I am so happy to help ensure they have reliable infrastructure to continue their work!

It was an honor to serve our Delco veterans some breakfast this morning to thank these heroes for their service. I hope you take a minute to watch as some of them share their experiences with everyone so future generations can learn about the sacrifices they made to defend our democracy.
