Our phone system upgrade was a success. With that, we have a bunch of phones that work with the Mitel system. If you own a Mitel system and need parts or replacement phones, contact our Chief at 215 968 3500 option 3. They are free for the taking.

Today we will be undergoing installation of a new phone system, switching to VOIP. This will improve communications within our organization, make it easier for you to contact specific departments, as well as save us a ton of money on our monthly telecommunications costs. During the transition there may be interruptions in our phone system. Please remember to always call 911 for emergencies. To reach our billing department directly please reference our website for contact information. Thank you for your patience!

Today we join with the members of Newtown Fire Rescue in celebrating and congratulating Fire Fighter Mike Bean on his retirement after 28 years of service to our community. In honor of his service members of Newtown EMS presented Firefighter Bean with a wooden backboard signed by our members. Congratulations Mike and thank you for being on-the-scene with us for all of these years.

We are appreciative of our neighbors from the Newtown Rotary Club for providing us a grant to fund replacement Mobile Data Terminals (MDT’s) in our ambulances. The Rotary has been extremely supportive of our mission over the last 6 years. Our Chief and Deputy Chief were featured at this weeks’ Rotary meeting and enjoyed speaking about our mission and goals.

We are late to the party, but, this week we celebrate National Emergency Medical Services Week. This is the time when we all pause to honor and celebrate EMS across the Country. Locally, as the Chief of Newtown Emergency Medical Services (AKA Newtown Ambulance Squad), I celebrate our personnel every day. Our professional and highly skilled Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics respond to your call with the same skill at 6am, Noon, or 2:30 in the morning. They are present, ready, and sharp. The men and women of Newtown EMS are honored by your support, and are as strong as they are thanks to the support from our community and municipal officials. I am grateful for the personnel we have, for without those who have chosen to work here, Newtown EMS would not be what it is today. I am reminded daily by our staff’s ability to problem solve, innovate, and work to improve what we do on a daily basis. Happy EMS Week! -Chief Evan N. Resnikoff, M.S. NRP
