Good morning!! If you missed last night’s Board of Supervisors meeting, we had a few exciting items on the agenda… First, after a competitive testing process Officer Harry Vitello and Officer Josh Kowalski were promoted to the rank of sergeant!! In front of friends, family, and fellow officers, they took the oath of office administered by Magisterial District Justice Michael Petrucci. Sgt. Vitello and Sgt. Kowalski have been assigned their patrol squads and will begin their new supervisory assignments immediately.

Additionally, we would like to introduce you to our newest officer, Karli Krug! Ofc. Krug has a history of service, serving as an EMT for 11 years, 7 years as a Bucks County 911 Dispatcher, and as an officer for the Philadelphia Police Department for the last 1.5 years. Ofc. Krug will begin her field training program under the tutelage of Ofc. Joseph Carcaci.

Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Vitello and Sgt. Kowalski, and please join us in welcoming Ofc. Krug to our department and community! We wish all of them much future success!!

Good morning!! It will be an exciting day at your police department as we will be going through the assessment process to maintain our Accreditation certification! The PA Chiefs of Police Association began the accreditation program in 2001 and since then, over 200 agencies have met the high standards set forth in the program. Your Upper Makefield Township Police Department first earned our Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation in 2021. In 2023, we were reaccredited and now, the time has come to ensure that we have continued to meet the 140 PLEAC standards over the past three years. Today, we welcome three assessors who will be going through the extensive accreditation evaluation process. After today, the process will continue and we will learn of our accreditation status in January of 2027.

Please join us in welcoming the assessors and wish as well as we continue to strive to exceed your expectations, maintain high professional standards, and ensure we are employing the most up-to-date police practices, so that we can continue to improve the way in which we serve and protect our wonderful community! As always, we truly appreciate your support and we hope you have a wonderful day!!

Good evening!! We have a weather update, but before we get to that… your Department of Public Works captured this picture of Freedom 🦅 yesterday in the area of Woodhill Road and Highland Road. If you have never seen an eagle in person, it is truly something to behold.. We are glad the eagle won over the turkey as our nation’s bird.…But if the local Eagles don’t beat the Panthers, they will be the turkey.. But we digress..

As for the weather, we are in for a chill this weekend so be ready.. we are going to see lows in the 30’s. We know some of you will love that. But, the true test is who can hold off the longest before putting heat on? We were hoping for December after last yea.r’s heating bill.. 😉

Anyway, that’s all for now and we hope you have a wonderful evening. As you know, we got you covered no matter the temps.. 👍
