On this Patriot Day, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office pauses to remember September 11, 2001.
Though thousands of miles separate the Camas Prairie from Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, distance does not lessen the grief or the reverence we hold.
We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost, and we honor the first responders who ran toward danger so others might live. Their sacrifice remains the highest standard of service and brotherhood.
Out of that dark day, our nation revealed an enduring truth: when faced with tragedy, Americans stand together. That same spirit of neighbor helping neighbor anchors our small Idaho communities every single day.
Today, as our flags fly at half-staff, we keep the fallen and their families in our prayers. We will never forget.
