Connecticut needs a representative who understands the issues that are important to residents. Nick sees the situation clearly: Flock cameras are an invasion of privacy and must not be allowed to operate unregulated. ELPD covered up their Flock cameras because of blatant privacy concerns, such as your information getting to corporations that may use it for surveillance pricing. Nick will to continue to push for the privacy that CT deserves.

In his letter to The Day, Brian highlights why Nick Menapace's years of experience as an educator make him uniquely qualified to serve in Hartford. Nick doesn't just read briefing memos about education policy—he lives it. He understands how decisions at the State Capitol directly impact our teachers, students, and families, and he's focused on fixing the Education Cost Sharing formula to ensure our schools have the resources they need.

Having an active educator in the legislature gives our district a vital connection between policymaking and the classroom.

I recently spoke to formerly incarcerated individuals at the Hartford Reentry Welcome Center to educate them about their voting rights. There are no laws requiring my office to inform individuals of their eligibility to vote, and my office usually receives $0 for voter education. Because of this, I make every effort to speak to groups of individuals in person to inform them of voting laws and changes to voting laws. You can read more about it here: bit.ly/voter-education

Note: special thanks to the legislature for granting funding this year to educate the public given the number of changes and voter confusion.
