JCFD has purchased an Aqua Eye command package. This equipment will help us locate victims in the water.

Thank you to Jessamine County Fire District for their purchase of an AquaEye system! After seeing it at a demo they made the decision to increase their water rescue capabilities!

The Jessamine County Fire District is saddened to get news of the passing of one of our former members. Captain Roger Todd Williams was an integral part of our agency for many, many years. We remember his hard work, dedication, and of course the stories. This one time at Green River…

Roger brought up his sons in the firehouse and Matt continues his legacy today. Rest easy, Cap. We’ll take it from here.

Beginning tomorrow, October 1, the Fall Burn Ban goes into effect until December 15.

No burning during the day within 150ft from a woodland or a grassland. Burning is allowed during the day with the above restrictions from 6:00AM-6:00PM. All controlled burns must be of natural vegetation. Unrestricted burns are allowed from 6:00PM-6:00AM as long as it is attended.

All burns must be called in to Central Dispatch at (859)-887-5447 prior to lighting.

JCFD had a busy day yesterday with a visit to the Jessamine County Library and read to a wonderful group of kids and showed them Engine 24. Then we were dispatched to a calf in a sink hole approximately 15’ hole. The calf was safely removed from sink hole. Along with several other calls through out the day.

This week JCFD hosted Trench Rescue Tech class with State Fire Rescue. We want to thank District 15 with helping us put this class together and thank Bart Powell, Marc Myres and Matt Thomas the state instructors that came out this week to teach class. It has been a great week of learning and doing. The next step for JCFD to improve our trench capabilities are to update our trench panels. We have all the materials and hope to have that project completed next month.

Last weekend 5 personnel went to the Kentucky Horse Park to participate in a Large Animal Rescue Class. JCFD has had large animal rescue capabilities for many years and we continue to keep our personnel trained ready to respond.
