Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. People recover in different ways, and every pathway that supports health, healing, and wellbeing deserves dignity and respect. Our team is here to help you find your path to recovery.

Celebrating recovery out loud is a powerful way to reduce stigma. This Recovery Month, let's honor milestones reached, relationships rebuilt, and lives transformed.

We'd love to hear your recovery story. Share in the comments or, if you're not comfortable sharing publicly, you can send us a message or email us at [email protected].

Nutrition, sleep, and physical activity are recovery tools. Research shows they can improve mood, support emotional regulation, and strengthen overall wellness.

Self-care habits to help maintain recovery:
✅ Get Enough Sleep. Create a consistent bedtime routine and aim for enough rest to support your physical and emotional well-being.
✅ Eat regularly. Nourishing your body can help improve energy, mood, and overall health.
✅ Stay connected. Spend time with supportive friends, family, sponsors, peer-support groups, or others who encourage your recovery.
✅ Make time for things you enjoy. Read, listen to music, spend time outside, create art, exercise, or find a hobby that gives you something positive to look forward to.
✅ Take care of your mental health. Journaling, meditation, counseling, or simply taking a few quiet minutes for yourself can help you manage stress.
✅ Celebrate your progress. Recovery doesn't have to be perfect. Recognize the small steps and accomplishments along the way.
✅ Ask for help when you need it. Reaching out for support is a strength, not a failure.
✅ Make recovery part of your routine. Attend meetings, appointments, or other supports that help you stay connected to your goals.

Recovery stories build understanding, inspire hope, and strengthen communities. Sharing lived experience can help others seek support and begin their own recovery journey.

We're honored to highlight three members of our team who have chosen to share their lived experiences to offer hope, encouragement, and a reminder that recovery is possible.

Don't let the cooler weather fool you. Ticks are still active across Kentucky. With local veterinarians reporting an increase in Lyme disease cases in dogs, now is the time to make sure your pet is protected.

Even during cooler months, ticks can remain active and pose a risk to dogs. Talk to your veterinarian about the best year-round tick prevention options for your dog.

Take a few minutes after walks, hikes, or outdoor playtime to check your dog for ticks. Be sure to inspect areas where ticks are commonly found, especially:
🔍 on the scalp
🔍 around the eyelids
🔍 ears - inside and out
🔍 under the collar
🔍 under legs
🔍 between toes
🔍 groin area
🔍 under the tail

Early detection and treatment can help prevent more serious health problems. Watch for common signs of Lyme disease, including:
✅ fever
✅ loss of appetite
✅ decreased activity
✅ swollen lymph nodes
✅ painful, swollen joints
✅ intermittent limping or lameness that shifts from leg to leg

Contact your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your dog's health.

As a Recovery Ready Community, we recognize that everyone experiences recovery differently. Supporting people in recovery means meeting them where they are and recognizing their unique strengths, challenges, and goals.

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Prevention, treatment, peer and recovery support services - including recovery housing, mutual aid, employment services, faith communities, and other recovery support services - all help build healthy, fulfilling lives.

Wherever you are in your recovery journey, know that you are not alone. Recovery happens together.
