Learn about Water Quality and Conservation in your own backyard. Join us on Oct 8th at 6:00 pm at the Jessamine County Cooperative Extension Office to convert a 55 gallon food grade barrel into a working Rain Barrel. Cost is free but you must preregister by calling 859-885-4811.

We still have spots left for the Jessamine County Ag Tour on Friday. Please call 859-885-4811 if you have not reserved your spot.

The Jessamine County Ag Tour will be Friday, Sept 25th. Bus will depart from the Jessamine Co Extension Office at 8:30 am. Stops include the Tyler Berry Farm, Fieldstone Farm and Apiary, Miller Beef Cattle Farm where lunch will be served, Taylor Made Equine Farm, Henkle Herbs and Heirlooms, and1922 House Winery. Bus will then return to the Extension Office around 4:30pm. Cost is free but Please call 859-885-4811 to reserve your spot as space is limited.

The Jessamine County Extension Office will be hosting a Hay Production educational program on Tuesday, September 15th starting at 5:15 pm.
The training will start with a visit to Dr. Tim Twehues farm at 6325 Danville Rd., Nicholasville. Please gather at the barn with the US fl ag, that is beside South Hwy 27, at 5:15 pm for an informal conversation with Dr. Twehues on his hay production for sale and use in his beef herd. He will be sharing ideas for maximizing hay production, quality, and marketing.
The farm visit will be followed by a light dinner at the Extension Office and a Hay Production presentation by Dr. Ray Smith, UK Forage Extension Specialist. He will be discussing strategies for maximizing hay production and quality on your farm.
This training will meet the educational requirements for the County Ag. Investment (CAIP) Cost-Share Program. Please register by calling the Extension Office by Friday, September 11 to reserve a spot.
