Public Notice : Training Burn Saturday September 26, 2026

The Nicollet Fire Department, along with other area Departments, will be conducting a live fire training burn Saturday at 7 am approximately 1/2 mile south of Nicollet.

This training burn is an important opportunity for our firefighters to sharpen their skills and improve response capabilities in a controlled environment.

Please don’t be alarmed by the increased smoke in our area, or the additional fire traffic, as we will be transporting water from town to the burn site throughout the morning.

We ask that you remain away from this area to keep traffic down and the travel route safe.

25 Years. We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. A day that forever changed our nation and the fire service.

In remembrance of the 343 FDNY firefighters and all those who lost their lives that day, five members of the Nicollet Fire Department participated in today’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, climbing 110 stories in their honor.

For members of the fire service, a 9/11 Stair Climb represents far more than a physical challenge. Each step is taken in remembrance of the firefighters who entered the World Trade Center and continued climbing while thousands of others were making their way to safety.

Twenty-five years later, it remains our responsibility to remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their commitment to serving others.

We are proud to have members of the Nicollet Fire Department carry that remembrance forward and represent our department today.

343 firefighters. 110 stories. 25 years later, we still remember.

May we never forget those who answered the call and never returned home.

Drawing is THIS SATURDAY, September 12th at 5:00 PM at the Nicollet Fire Hall!

🎟️ Tickets are $10, $20, or $100 depending on the raffle, and each drawing has a limited number of tickets available.

Your support directly helps the Nicollet Fire Relief Association purchase equipment and resources needed by our firefighters to better serve and protect our community.

There are some awesome prizes up for grabs, including outdoor gear, hunting equipment, fi****ms, and more. Whether you’re a hunter, outdoors enthusiast, or just want to support your local fire department, there’s a raffle for you!
