Today we had an exciting tree rescue.
A young man was climbing a tree like one does. And ended up getting stuck 40 feet up!
Thank you Damariscotta Fire for the help today.
We always appreciate our mutual aid partners helping us in times of need.
The safest way to extricate the young man in this situation is the ladder truck !

⚠️ NOR’EASTER PREPAREDNESS

Nobleboro Fire is closely monitoring the nor’easter expected to affect our area Friday into the weekend. The storm may bring periods of heavy rain, strong winds, flooding, hazardous travel conditions, and power outages, with impacts currently expected Saturday evening

Please take time now to prepare:
• Charge phones and other essential devices.
• Check flashlights and keep extra batteries available.
• Stay away from downed trees, power lines, and utility wires. Always assume it’s live!
• Use generators outdoors only, at least 20 feet from your home and away from windows and doors. Make sure you have extra gas
• Call 911 for emergencies and report power outages directly to your utility provider.
•tie down any loose items on decks or bring in any thing that will blow away.

Twenty five years ago today, 343 firefighters began their shifts believing it would be just another day. By 10:28 a.m. both towers of the World Trade Center were in rubble and our country was changed forever. These brave firefighters were then followed by their friends who spent months sifting through that wreckage to make recoveries, unknowingly exposing themselves to toxins that would ultimately cause major health problems.

In the 25 years since that day, there have been over 600 more firefighter deaths from toxic exposures at ground zero. They have passed from everything from respiratory diseases to cancers. Nearly 1000 firefighter deaths directly related to the tragic events of that day.

Today we honor their sacrifice by remembering why we became firefighters - to help the public whenever we can, to put ourselves in harms way if necessary and to always remember the potential consequences of being a part of the fire service.

Our Fire Department recently conducted search and rescue training to strengthen our team’s ability to respond safely and effectively during emergency situations.
Training included practicing search techniques, communication, teamwork, and coordinated response in challenging conditions. These exercises are an important part of maintaining readiness and ensuring our firefighters are prepared to assist those in need when every second counts.

Our new Utility 1 truck has officially entered service with the department! This truck replaces a mini-pumper at about 1/4 the cost and will be far more useful to the department. It carries 250 gallons of water in a forestry skid for use on vegetation fires, a full complement of medical equipment and various tools. In the winter with the skid removed, it will hold our cold water rescue equipment.

Thank you to the residents of Nobleboro who approved the purchase of this truck at our annual town meeting. Your support is always appreciated and as always, we pledge to be good stewards of the equipment you purchase for your fire department.

Minnehata Fire Company (Nobleboro) is looking for a rescue boat or similar.

We are trying to replace our small zodiac style boat with another inflatable with an outboard. If anyone has something they might want to part with, please let us know. We are a 501c3 organization so anyone willing to sell at a reduced cost could potentially receive a tax break for the discounted price.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who reported the many downed lines and trees in the road. Nobleboro Fire and Rescue along with the road commissioner have been working since the first call came in at 2:13 PM came in to ensure everyone's safety. Thankfully we are looking ready to wrap things up soon.

Currently only Snow Road is closed (East Pond Road is now open both lanes).
