Santa Cruz Training Programs Helping self-respect grow by teaching life and work skills, and creating a sense of belonging in our community.

We carry on the history of the Santa Cruz County Arc founded in 1968 for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our members develop a vision for their future as we assist them in participating and contributing to the community, and in making responsible choices. Those in our programs learn to exercise more control over their lives, to establish and maintain relationships, and to practice self-respect, acceptance, and personal safety. We value:
-The development and fostering of personal relationships with family and friends
-Individual and family initiative in making choices and expressing preferences
-Equal access to quality services and supports for all individuals
-Individuals as welcomed, participating and contributing members in all aspects of
family and community life
-The rights of all individuals and the preservation of their worth, value and dignity

The DREAM (Disability & Rehabilitation Employment Awareness Month) job fair is next week! Tuesday, Oct 27th from 9am-12pm at the Kino Event Center on 2805 E Ajo Way. You can pre-register on their website.
A quiet hour starts at 9am.

This week's specials are:
Monday - Pozole (fan favorite)

Tuesday - Tacos de carne asada (another fan favorite)

Wednesday - Carne con chile (well, hard to be modest now, this is pretty great too)

Thursday - Gorditas de carne (depending on your geographic upbringing, kind of a toss up on what to call these, but we call them gorditas. you might know them as sopes. I do not know what you'll get if you ask for that.)

Friday - Torta de cochinita pibil (sweet, tangy, yummy in the tummy)

We're proud of all our trainees who make sure everything is in order all the time! Learning is part of the day, from correct ways to address customers to perfect coffee pours and beautiful empanadas.

Team turkey or tamal?? The time is coming! Please place your orders for cookie platters and tamales by 11/13/2026. Call La Castellana Cafe at 520-287-5421 Mon-Fri 8am-2:30pm.

Tamales are $20/dozen and cookie platters are $25 (medium) and $35 (large).

The tamales are pork, beef or chicken, in the Nogales style with the shredded meat tucked in with a green olive and a slice of potato, carrot, and jalapeno.
