To our Nightdipper Family and Friends,

It is with unimaginably heavy hearts that we face the hard conclusion that our missing Nightdipper has been
lost at sea.

Over the last 102 hours, the US Navy and theater assets conducted a rigorous, systematic, and tireless search.
We have searched 24/7, using ships and aircraft from two carrier strike groups, additional shore-based aircraft and national capabilities, searching over 14,000 square miles, and then searching them again. We are at the point where
additional search efforts will not yield any improved results- therefore, the search has been suspended.

To the Family - Our love, thoughts, prayers and complete support remain unconditionally with you during this
indescribably painful time. We carry this heavy burden alongside you. You are, and will always remain, a
cherished part of our Nightdipper family.

Our absolute deepest gratitude goes out to every squadron, crew, search unit, and cooperating agency who worked
so relentlessly throughout this operation. The overwhelming support over the last several days to find our
Nightdipper is a testament to our shared bond. Though this tragedy brings profound grief, there is no doubt of
every entity's effort to bring our Sailor home.

As we mark the 250th anniversary of our Nation's Independence, we are painfully reminded that the cost of freedom is high. We will carry on in his honor, dedicated to our sacred mission, "Rescue, Protect, Deliver."

To the friends and families of the Nightdippers:

Yesterday, one of our helicopters impacted the water. Three out of four crew members were recovered and are in stable condition onboard the George H.W. Bush.

Every available asset is searching for our fourth Nightdipper, and the support and coverage of the area is extensive. We will continue searching with relentless pursuit of finding our Sailor.

The family of the affected Nightdipper has been notified, all other Nightdippers are safe onboard. Please respect the family’s privacy at this impossible time. Please reach out to the Nightdipper’s Ombudsmen team for any questions, as they are in contact with leadership.

Keep the faith and send your prayers. We will update as we know more.

Today, we celebrate the Dipper Dads.

Being a father means answering one of life’s greatest callings. So does serving your Nation. We’re proud to serve alongside the men who do both- -with humility, sacrifice, unwavering commitment, and love.

Whether you’re deployed halfway around the world or lucky enough to spend the day at home, thank you for everything you do- -for your families, for your shipmates, and for the United States of America.

Happy Father’s Day to all our Nightdipper fathers. Stay safe and enjoy the day!

"After 2 weeks and many miles travelled at sea, I'm happy to report that the Nightdippers are hitting their stride! We've had three promotions, executed a successful medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), enabled sustainment/logistics and currency flying for the entire Air Wing, and conducted lots of training on different environments. I am extremely proud of this team we've put together over the last two years. Most of all, I thank the Nightdipper families who are making all of this possible while holding down the homefront; your sacrifices are many, and they will never go un-noticed." -- Skipper Leeroy
