If you are deployed, stationed overseas, aboard a ship, or otherwise away from your voting residence:
1. Go to FVAP.gov
2. Complete the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)
The FPCA can register you to vote and request your absentee ballot.
3. Request electronic delivery of your ballot when available.
4. Vote and return your ballot as soon as you receive it.
🚨 DIDN’T RECEIVE YOUR BALLOT?
Don’t assume you missed the election.
Use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) as your backup ballot.
🇺🇸 IMPORTANT FOR SAILORS
Your state of voting residence determines the rules that apply to you. Your duty station does not automatically change your voting residence.
If your voting residence is Virginia, follow the Virginia deadlines above.
If your voting residence is another state, use FVAP to determine that state’s deadlines and procedures.
