This Independence Day, NAVFAC Atlantic honors the enduring spirit of service, sacrifice and freedom that defines our nation. For generations, NAVFAC has helped build and sustain the shore infrastructure that supports the Fleet, the warfighter and our national defense.

From shipyards and installations to the people behind the mission, our work remains rooted in service to something greater than ourselves — helping ensure the Navy is ready to protect the nation we proudly serve.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we reflect on our nation’s history, recognize those who continue to serve, and look ahead with pride in the mission that supports America’s Navy.

⚙ CAPT Dean Allen, NAVFAC Mid‑Atlantic Commanding Officer, kicked off the three‑day 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗙𝗔𝗖 𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 in Norfolk, Virginia, June 23. The summit, held June 23-25, brought together both Hampton Roads‑based safety professionals and remote teammates from across the NAVFAC enterprise. Presenters included: Federal Fire and Emergency Services, CNIC safety partners, NAVSAFECOM Training Center, NAVFAC FECA (Federal Employees' Compensation Act) and Workers’ Compensation representatives, MIDLANT Business Directorate leadership, Public Works staff, and Safety Directors from Echelon II and III commands, including NAVFAC Safety Directors from the Southeast, Southwest, Washington, and Northwest. The event reinforced NAVFAC’s commitment to proactive, collaborative, and enterprise‑wide safety – ensuring our workforce remains ready, informed, and aligned to support Fleet and installation mission requirements. 🔹

It's great when you see it all come together!

Our real estate team had a chance to travel to North Carolina this week to see the fruits of their labor. Amanda Pack, NAVFAC MidAtlantic, and Lita Staskey, NAVFAC Atlantic, traveled to the new Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at the North Carolina Global TransPark in Kinston where the action is nothing less than hot!

Just recently, the real estate team hit a major milestone for the Navy, signing a lease agreement with the state, giving FRCE access to 65 acres there. That major accomplishment means makes it possible for FRCE-East to meet its mission, providing maintenance support of the Navy-Marine Corps teams' C/KC-130 Hercules/Super Hercules transport aircraft and Air Force HH-60W Jolly Green II search and rescue helicopters.

The acquisition strategy, begun six years ago and noted for being the first of its kind within the Department of War, is an innovative collaboration. Not only did realize cost avoidance of $700M while and cutting the construction timeline by more than half, the arrangement creates hundreds of highly skilled technical jobs, a substantial economic boost to eastern North Carolina.
