Happy Birthday to the Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR)! 🎉

For 81 years, we have served as the Navy’s premier independent testing agency, ensuring our Sailors and Marines are equipped with the most capable and lethal systems. From the earliest days of our establishment to the complex, multi-domain operations of today, our mission remains the same: delivering objective, rigorous truth to the warfighter.

Thank you to all the past and present military, civilian, and contractor personnel who have dedicated themselves to operational excellence and fleet readiness. We couldn't do it without you!

Here’s to another year of advancing naval power.

"As I prepare to step down as your Director and head into my next chapter of retirement, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to every one of you. Serving this Command — first as your Deputy Commander and then as Director — has been one of the most profoundly rewarding experiences of my career.
Looking back at what we've accomplished together, I am constantly inspired by your dedication to our mission. Day in and day out, you ensure that the systems our Sailors and Marines rely on are rigorously tested and evaluated under the most realistic and demanding conditions. Your commitment to independent and objective evaluation directly translates to improved warfighting capability and, ultimately, the safety and success of our men and women in the Fleet. You are the ultimate advocates for the warfighter, and it has been my absolute honor to advocate for you."

-Robin H. Locksley, Director, Operational Test and Evaluation Force

Tomorrow, June 25, OPTEVFOR will honor Mr. Locksley during a Change of Office ceremony as he officially retires after 37 years of dedicated civilian service to our military.

Thank you, Director Locksley, for your unwavering commitment to our mission and the warfighter. Please join us in wishing him fair winds and following seas! 🌊🚢

✔️ Watch for black ice on roads and walkways
✔️ Use caution during high winds
✔️ Secure loose outdoor items to prevent windborne hazards

NSA Hampton Roads will continue to share updates as conditions change. Please monitor official channels and local weather sources, and use extra caution if traveling. Stay safe and stay warm! ❄️⚓
