Keep candy time safe and sweet!

Before letting kids enjoy their treats, go through their haul at home to make sure everything is safe to eat. Be extra careful with small or hard items that could pose a choking risk and always have allergy medicine or an EpiPen on hand for children with known food sensitivities.

REMINDER: Join the Cleveland County Health Improvement Plan (CCHIP) Substance Abuse Community Coalition for a Drug Take-Back Event this Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cleveland County Health Department.

Drop off unwanted or expired prescription medications and medical waste. Medical waste must be placed in a secured container separate from prescription medication.

The Cleveland County Health Department’s Children First program provides free, personalized support for first-time mothers from early pregnancy through your child’s second birthday.

👩‍⚕️ Specially trained nurses provide personal visits and guidance on:
✔ Pregnancy, labor and delivery
✔ Parenting skills like feeding and bathing
✔ Toilet training and more

Who is eligible?
Participants must be first-time mothers who are less than 29 weeks pregnant at enrollment. Household income requirements also apply.

Birth Partners of Cleveland County offers free childbirth education classes twice a month for pregnant women, their families, and support persons.

The class covers information for any birth setting, including hospitals and birth centers, and creates a shared space to learn about labor and birth.

Join our new Moms Creating Community group that meets on the second Thursday of each month!

This group offers a safe, supportive space for women to share everyday experiences, talk through struggles, and connect with other moms.

Led by doulas with Birth Partners of Cleveland County, the group will focus on:
💛 Mental health & wellness
💛 Storytelling & shared experiences
💛 Connection & community

We teamed up with Center for Children & Families (CCFI) and several other local partners to hold a car seat event on October 16, making sure families had the opportunity to have their car seats inspected, installed, or replaced if needed!

We gave out 6 car seats and saw more than 10 appointments. Thank you to our partners for making events like these happen!
