The weather is cooling off and it won’t be long before everyone is kicking those heaters on. Take advantage of this great program that the office of the Illinois state fire marshal provides for Illinois fire departments and their communities.

Contact us on messenger and get an appointment set up to get your smoke detectors installed.

Friday was crazy busy getting ready for Dairy Days but thanks to Nathan Day, at least SCBA flow testing went smooth.

Brad Harrison was our winner of the gun raffle! Thank you to everyone that supported the lady’s auxiliary! The fire department appreciates this more than you know! From hot chocolate on a freezing night to Gatorades in 100 degree weather. Extra equipment and everything in between!

Congratulations to Chief Troy Dagley and Assistant Chief Brad Hall on passing the Illinois Instructor II test yesterday!

Troy and Brad have spent the last two weekends at the Mt. Vernon, IL Emergency Operations Center attending the Illinois Fire Service Institute's Instructor II course. Having members achieve Illinois Fire Instructor II certification provides significant benefits to not only the department and the community but our entire region. This advanced certification strengthens the department’s ability to provide structured, consistent, and professional training to its firefighters as well as the mutual aid departments that assist us.
