2026 STATE PRIMARY – CERTIFIED NORTH ADAMS RESULTS

The Office of the City Clerk has posted the Certified Results for the September 1, 2026 State Primary for the City of North Adams.

The election results were certified in the State election system on Friday. Following certification, our office compiled the results into an Excel format to provide residents with additional information, including percentages by Ward and overall voter turnout for the City of North Adams.

The Office of the City Clerk is pleased to share our Early Voting statistics as we prepare for the September 1, 2026 State Primary Election.

As of the close of Early Voting:

📬 1,259 Vote by Mail Ballots Mailed in Total

📥 847 Mail-in Ballots Received & Accepted to Date

🚶 192 In-Person Early Voters In Total

🗳️ 1,039 Total Early Votes Cast to Date

📨 1,067 Total Ballots Returned to Date
(In-Person and Mail-in, including rejected ballots)

📊 72% of mailed ballots have been returned

Early Voting participation represents approximately 10% of North Adams' 10,634 registered voters.

Processing Vote by Mail applications and ballots, assisting voters, conducting In-Person Early Voting, and preparing for Election Day requires a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes on top of our regular work, and I greatly appreciate everything they have done.

📢 STATE PRIMARY ELECTION UPDATE

From the North Adams City Clerk’s Office

In-Person Early Voting has officially ended as of 4:30 PM today, Friday, August 28, 2026.

However, voters still have options available before Election Day:

📬 VOTE BY MAIL

We will continue to accept the return of Vote by Mail ballots through Tuesday, September 1, 2026, no later than 8:00 PM.

🗳️ IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING

MONDAY, AUGUST 31, Qualified voters who will be unable to vote at the polls on State Primary Election Day, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, may still vote In-Person Absentee at the City Clerk’s Office on:

Monday, August 31, 2026
8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

Eligible voters may come into the City Clerk’s Office, complete the required Absentee Ballot Application, and cast their absentee ballot during those hours.

🗓️ STATE PRIMARY ELECTION DAY

Tuesday, September 1, 2026
Polls are open from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Please remember: Early Voting and Absentee Voting are not the same process. Although In-Person Early Voting has ended, qualified voters may still be eligible to vote absentee on Monday.

The Office of the City Clerk is providing the following Early Voting statistics as of the close of business on August 28, 2026.

I wanted to share this morning’s very quick television interview regarding the upcoming election as it is so important to continue to get election information out to our residents from the Office of the City Clerk.

With the State Primary quickly approaching, I appreciate every opportunity we have to reach residents and make sure they are aware of the different ways they can participate, including In-Person Early Voting, Vote by Mail, Absentee Voting, and voting at the polls on Election Day.

Our goal is to make sure residents have clear and accurate information regarding their voting options, important deadlines, and where and when they can cast their ballots. The more avenues we have to share this information, the better opportunity we have to reach residents who may not regularly visit the City’s website or follow its social media pages.

I want to thank everyone who continues to share the information I send out so together we can reach out to as many as possible throughout our community. Every effort helps us ensure that North Adams voters know when, where, and how they can participate in the upcoming elections.
