All ages are invited to join us at the Aiken County Public Library on November 7, 2026 for free activities and presentations celebrating comics, graphic novels, cosplay, and pop culture, including local authors and special visitors, face painting, crafts, a scavenger hunt, cosplay contest, and more! There will be performances outside by the Aiken High School Band as well as PB' N Jam!

Ghost Painting fun! Thank you to all who came out to paint a spooky masterpiece today! Tomorrow we will be making our own dirty sodas during the Soda Shop Bop! 50s music, soda mixing, hopscotch, and more! It all starts at 4:30! Don’t be a square and be there! 😂🥤

If you’ve been waiting to bring in your donations, we’re ready for them! We’ll be accepting donations of books, DVDs, CDs, games, and puzzles in good condition through Tuesday, October 13.

Then it’s time for the Friends of the Nancy Carson Library Book Sale! 🎉

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Nancy Carson Library will close today at 3 pm. We will reopen with regular operating hours tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Don’t forget! We have a fun program every day this week! Today we kick off with our 80s craft program for grades 6-12 at 6 pm! We also have a new scavenger hunt starting today at 11 am. We look forward to seeing you all during this last week of Fall Break.

Owner has been found and this little kitty has been reunited with her person! Thank you for checking. We will leave this post up for the fun pictures. 😺

Did your child lose their friend at the library? They helped Ms. Renee around the library (including helping with checking out all the books after our outage yesterday!) and even did the scavenger hunt! If this is your child’s friend, let me know and I will make sure they are labeled and ready for you to pick up!

Tutor Training Workshop
Aiken County Public Library
Saturday, September 26
Literacy SC is a Columbia-based nonprofit that teaches adults to read through personalized, one-on-one tutoring, free of cost. Once trained, volunteer reading tutors are matched with an adult learner. Tutors and learners may meet at any ABBE Library location. The fall Tutor Training will be September 26 at the Aiken County Public Library. Participation is free, but registration is required using the link below.
