WATER SYSTEM NOTICE
Adams Lane Water Tank: Temporary Shutdown Thursday, November 5

What’s happening
The Township will take the Adams Lane Water Tank out of service on Thursday, November 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Will my water be affected?
Water service will continue as normal. The Township’s two other water tanks will remain in service throughout the shutdown. You may notice:
• Slightly lower or fluctuating water pressure
• Temporary discoloration of your water

If your water looks discolored
Run your cold water tap for a few minutes until it runs clear. Avoid doing laundry until the water is clear to prevent staining.

Why we’re doing this
The Adams Lane tank will undergo a major rehabilitation beginning in spring 2027 and will be out of service for several months during that work. To prepare the water system, the Township will take the tank offline once a month between now and then, with each shutdown lasting a little longer than the last. These test shutdowns help us ensure the system can keep serving everyone reliably while the tank is out of service.

Stay informed
Dates for future shutdowns will be posted at www.northbrunswicknj.gov. For questions, contact the North Brunswick Water Treatment Plant at 732-297-7332.

Thank you for your patience as we invest in reliable water service for our community.

North Brunswick honored United States Army veteran Dominick Zangara by dedicating Mohawk Road and Joseph Street as Zangara Way on Monday, October 19.

Dominick was born on July 7, 1941, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and attended New Brunswick High School.

Dominick served in the United States Army as a Specialist Four (SP4/E-4) during the Vietnam War era. Trained as a Radio Operator, he was stationed in Alaska and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1964.

Dominick was on active duty in Alaska on March 27, 1964, when the Great Alaska Earthquake struck, a magnitude of 9.2 and the most powerful earthquake ever recorded in North America. Army units in Alaska played a critical role in the disaster response, restoring communications and airlifting supplies.

After his military service, Dominick dedicated more than 25 years to Delco Battery in New Brunswick, retiring in 1996.

Dominick was a North Brunswick resident for six decades and made his home on Mohawk Road.

Dominick married Marcia (Agans) Zangara in 1967, and they were the parents of two sons. He coached Little League, golfed with lifelong friends who called him “BIG Z,” and was known to all for his famous meatballs.

Dominick passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 84. He is survived by his sons Richard (wife Colleen) and Louis (wife Noreen), his grandchildren Dominick, Richard and Declan, and his sister Josephine

We thank and honor Dominick Zangara for his service to our country and community!
