Book Club: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke

What happens when the picture-perfect life you’ve carefully created suddenly becomes very, very real?

In Yesteryear, Natalie Heller Mills has built an online following around her carefully curated “traditional” life as a wife and mother. But when she unexpectedly wakes up in 1855, the rustic lifestyle she once presented so beautifully looks very different when there’s no electricity, no modern conveniences, and no way to simply turn the camera off. What follows is a darkly funny and unsettling look at tradition, motherhood, faith, fame, and the difference between the life we perform and the life we actually live.

Join us October 8 from 5–7 PM for a conversation about Yesteryear and all the questions it raises. And as always, you’re welcome whether you finished the book, only made it partway through, or didn’t get a chance to start it at all.

Bring a snack, drink, or meal to share if you’d like. 📖☕

Come play a game, practice your strategy, and meet some other chess players from the community.
