Join trauma-informed yoga instructor Andrea Hobkirk-Magararu for a healing hour designed to reduce stress and anxiety, calm the nervous system, and introduce simple techniques to help ease feelings of panic and distress in the body.

Andrea brings years of experience teaching yoga and mindfulness meditation to women in crisis, creating a supportive, gentle environment where you can breathe, move, and be present.

Thanksgiving is about the food, of course. But the best part of the holiday has always been who’s sitting around the table. For the second year, Oakes Ames Memorial Hall and Easton Women of Today, Inc. are setting the table and inviting the community to join us for a free Thanksgiving Dinner!

Come for a delicious traditional dinner, enjoy the conversation, and meet someone new. Bring the family or simply come as you are. It’s about making room for one another and creating a place where neighbors can gather, connect, and celebrate Thanksgiving together. The dinner is open to the Easton community, but seating is limited to 80. Please RSVP to Joan at 508-692-8060 to reserve your spot so we can make sure there’s a place for everyone.

Looking for something different to do for a date night? Skip the usual dinner-and-a-movie routine and try a few new steps together at the Hall!
Steve Cavanaugh and his wife, Laurie, discovered their love of dancing after their youngest headed off to college. What started with ballroom and Latin dancing soon led to line dancing, weekly classes, and a whole new social scene. Steve eventually became an instructor and choreographer, creating more than 60 line dances along the way!
Now Steve is bringing his experience and enthusiasm to the Hall on November 19 from 6:30-9pm. Whether you’re a natural on the dance floor or have two left feet, it’s a chance to get out locally, share some laughs, and try something new together. Register and pay $15 at: https://www.venmo.com/u/Stephen-Cavanaugh-6, or pay at the door for $20.

A friendly request: Please leave the cowboy boots at home to help us protect our beautiful hardwood floors. Thank you!

Something’s out there… On October 30, join us for a special screening of a three-part film exploring the Bridgewater Triangle, a familiar landscape with no shortage of legends, mysteries, and stories that have kept people looking into the woods a little more carefully.

Produced by Easton Community Access Television and created by filmmaker Joe Taft, a familiar face at ECAT where he serves as a production director, the project brings his filmmaking talents to the forefront

Come show your support for independent filmmaking. Tickets are just $5 and include all three episodes; refreshments will be available for purchase. So grab a seat, settle in, and see what the Bridgewater Triangle has been hiding.

A little mahjong. A lot of personality.

If these photos tell us anything, it’s that Mahjong Night is about a whole lot more than the game. It’s friends catching up. New friendships forming. Plenty of laughing. A little silliness. Some are concentrating. Some are clearly ready for their close-up!

Mahjong Night is every Thursday, 6–9 PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. Open play is for experienced players, with doors opening at 5:30 PM. The cost is $20 for supplies/materials and a light snack. To register, contact Holly at 508-572-6180.

Excerpt from The First Three Freds — by The Fourth

Champion Dolly Dimple set many records, including the seven-day record for milk and butterfat production. From Langwater Guernseys: A testimonial to Frederick Lothrop Ames, by Caldwell and Barron, published by Rumford Press, 1925:

During these seven days she ate by actual weight 70 pounds of hay, 105 pounds of silage, 140 pounds of roots, 63 pounds of beet pulp, 12.6 pounds of bran, 8.4 pounds of pea meal, 12.6 pounds of ground oats, 12.6 pounds of gluten, 8.4 pounds of oil meal, 8.4 pounds of alfalfa meal, 8.4 pounds of cotton seed meal, 4.2 pounds of hominy…

And, off the record, a bottle of b**r at milking time.
