The Pike View Community Garden just got a major upgrade! 🌿💦Our brand-new irrigation system is officially installed and operational. This upgrade will keep our plants perfectly hydrated while conserving water.

A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered to make this project a reality. Happy gardening!

LOWE’S HOMETOWN HEROES

Lowe's, Oldcastle APG, and NLR Community Garden Program partnered to revitalize the Pike View Community Garden. Each year Lowe’s selects 100 large-scale community projects, chosen from consumer nominations, to be completed in partnership with local nonprofits, Lowe’s store associates and community volunteers. Through their generosity, the Pike View Community Garden received five new raised beds, old beds were reinforced with lumber and bricks, a new irrigation system was installed, and planting materials were provided which included two pallets of soil, seeds, and shovels.

For the children, families and staff at Pike View ECC, the garden is a living, breathing classroom; a place for inquiry, risk taking, relationship building, & developing a deeper understanding of the world around them. Produce from the garden will support the WISE & Eat It, Try It, Like It nutrition programs being used in our classrooms.
