Skills that can make a difference when it matters most.🫶🏾

Our RYIP participants recently took part in hands-on CPR Training led by Dowil Henry of One Life Source CPR Inc. Participants learned valuable lifesaving techniques and gained practical experience they can carry with them beyond the classroom.

A huge thank you to Dowil for sharing his knowledge and helping our youth feel more prepared, confident, and ready to respond in an emergency. 💜

Today’s RYIP session was all about giving our youth the tools they need to make positive choices and stay focused on their goals. 💜

Dr. Shirley Plantin led an impactful conversation on communication, respect for authority, and staying out of trouble, while also taking time to review each client’s goals for the school year and encourage them to stay on track.

The session also included community resources presented by Ms.Jasmine and a Relapse Prevention Plan discussion led by Dr. Stuart and Ms. Michelle.

For Wilson Lariston, that realization represents growth, confidence, and a new outlook on what’s possible.

Through RYIP, we’re proud to walk alongside young people like Wilson as they develop new skills, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward their future.

A special thank-you to St. Fort’s Funeral Home for supporting Wilson and our youth by helping create opportunities where they can learn, grow, and experience what’s possible when their community believes in them.

This year, PSCDG proudly started a new tradition. 💜

For the first time, we recognized an elected official who has consistently shown up for our organization, our programs, and the communities we serve.

We were honored to present Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers with PSCDG’s Outstanding Elected Official of the Year Award! 🏆

Commissioner Chambers has been a true supporter of PSCDG, stepping in time and time again to help us move our mission forward. Whether it’s helping us secure locations for important events and initiatives, supporting our community programming, connecting us with valuable resources, or simply being there when we need an extra hand, his support has made a meaningful difference.

Thank you, Commissioner Chambers, for believing in the work of PSCDG and for continuing to support the programs, families, and communities we serve. This may be our first year recognizing an elected official, but it certainly won’t be our last.

We’re proud to begin this tradition by honoring someone who has been such a consistent supporter of our mission. 💜

It takes a village, and we’re grateful for parents who don’t just participate — they get involved. 💜
