The City of North Miami Government The official page for the City of North Miami, Florida. North Miami has a rich history dating back to the 1800’s.

After becoming incorporated on February 5, 1926, the City grew exponentially from then on. A tour through North Miami demonstrates that the City boasts the largest concentration of mid-century modern buildings in South Florida. NoMi is committed to a strong educational and arts community, to pride in its beautiful parks, and is moving forward towards a healthier, greener community.

Join City of North Miami Councilman Kevin A. Burns, District 1, for Kevin’s Movie Night Under the Stars, featuring a special Halloween screening of Disney's Hocus Pocus!

🥁🎉 Thanksgiving Day is coming to North Miami, and we’re making the 51st Annual WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade bigger, louder, and more exciting than ever!

Join us on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, at 10 a.m., for a celebration of family, community, and fun, featuring marching bands, performance groups, community organizations, and more along NE 125th Street.

Want to be part of the parade? We’re calling all South Florida marching bands, dance squads, cheer squads, flag corps, color guards, drill teams, step teams, and community groups to participate! Registration is open, so scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up.

All aboard for a journey through North Miami’s history! 🚎🎉

As part of the City’s Centennial celebration, Vice Mayor Kassandra Timothe and Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles welcomed students from iPrep Academy North aboard the North Miami trolley for a special tour of the city.

From exploring historic landmarks to getting up close with animals at Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park, students enjoyed a day of learning, discovery and fun.
The tour was an opportunity to connect the next generation with North Miami’s rich history as we celebrate 100 years of community and progress.

Tonight, the City of North Miami’s Public Works Department connected with residents to discuss Phase 2 of the Septic to Sewer Project, an initiative to replace residential septic tanks with connections to the City’s sewer system.

Residents learned about upcoming construction, met the project team, and had an opportunity to ask questions.

Program is NOW OPEN until October 30, 2026.

Apply to receive
up to $60,000 in home repairs for:
✨Roofs, electrical upgrades & plumbing
✨Windows, doors, insulation & A/C
✨ADA improvements like grab bars & railings

📌Applicants must:
✔️Own and occupy a home in North Miami
✔️Be Homestead Tax Exempt
✔️Be current on mortgage, property taxes & insurance
✔️ Must not have outstanding code or utility billing liens
✔️Meet HUD income limits
