In North Miami, we honor the strength and contributions of our Black and African American communities, including the rich history and culture of our Haitian-American families who have helped build this city. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is precious, progress is possible, and unity is our greatest power.

Let us celebrate with joy, remember with purpose, and commit ourselves to building a brighter future for every resident, one rooted in equity, opportunity, and respect for all.

Tonight, I had the honor of attending the Unity Juneteenth Celebration hosted by City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins, alongside my colleague, North Miami Beach Mayor Michael Joseph.

It was a meaningful evening of reflection, fellowship, and celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress. Juneteenth reminds us that unity is one of our greatest strengths as we continue working together to build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Thank you, Mayor Higgins, for hosting this wonderful event and for bringing people together in the spirit of unity and shared purpose.
