One big class! Welcome to the best job ever!
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reached a historic milestone on Monday morning, when 112 recruits began their fire service careers at the Fire Rescue Training Center in Doral. The largest contingent of recruits in our 90-year history consisted of 76 certified firefighters assigned to Class 159 and 36 non-certified firefighters allocated to Class 160. They now join the 46 members of Class 158, who will graduate from the Miami-Dade Fire Academy on November 20th. The entire MDFR family wishes them all a safe and satisfying career protecting the lives and property of Miami-Dade County and its residents.
Engine 19 and Rescue 19 on the C shift put in some work today at the Apartment Fire in Opa Locka earlier this morning. The Engine crew was on one of 2 attack lines on the second floor and the Rescue crew did a search of the 1st floor and opened up the structure.

Just one of the many times the good Capt Gustin has imparted his wisdom on us.
He was a pillar in the Fire Service and he will never be forgotten.
RIP Capt.
