🚒 NEW TENDER IN SERVICE – EDISTO ISLAND STATION 3! 🚒

St. Paul’s Fire District is proud to announce that a new Tender 1403 has been placed in service at our Edisto Island Station 3!

This new apparatus carries 3,000 gallons of water, 35 gallons of foam and is equipped with a 1,000 GPM pump, providing our firefighters with a valuable resource when responding to emergencies throughout the Edisto Island community.

In rural areas where municipal water systems and fire hydrants may be limited or unavailable, water tenders play a critical role in firefighting operations. They allow our crews to transport large quantities of water to the scene and support sustained fire suppression efforts when every gallon counts.

Investing in the right equipment helps ensure our firefighters have the tools they need to protect lives, property, and the communities we proudly serve.

At St. Paul’s Fire District, we remain committed to improving our capabilities, strengthening our response, and providing the highest level of service to our residents and visitors.

🚨🔥 SPFD RECRUIT SCHOOL 26-02 IS UNDERWAY! 🔥🚨

The St. Paul’s Fire District is proud to welcome 14 recruits to SPFD Recruit School Class 26-02!

These recruits have hit the ground running, and over the first few weeks they have been hard at work developing the skills needed to serve their communities.

📚 The journey begins with the fundamentals:

✅ Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Skills
✅ Hazardous Materials Operations

As the weeks progress, these recruits will take on the challenges of Firefighter I, building their knowledge, skills, and confidence through hands-on training and real-world fire service scenarios.

Their journey will culminate with Firefighter II certification, preparing them to step into the fire service with the training and experience needed to continue growing as firefighters.

This is more than a training program
—it’s an investment in the future of the fire service.

We’re proud of the dedication, hard work, and commitment these 14 recruits are already showing.

🚨TOWER 1401 — COMING SOON! 🚨

Our crews are in Wisconsin this week at the Pierce Manufacturing facility performing the final inspection of SPFD Tower 1401! 🚒🔥

This is an exciting step as we get closer to bringing this state-of-the-art apparatus home to the St. Paul’s Fire District. Our team is taking the time to go over every detail and make sure Tower 1401 is ready to serve our firefighters and, most importantly, our community.

From the drawing board to the final inspection, this has been a team effort and we’re getting closer to putting this incredible new piece of equipment in service!

🔥 Structure Fire – Hollywood

St. Paul’s Fire District, along with Charleston County EMS and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a structure fire in the Hollywood community around 1230 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews quickly went to work locating and assisting a trapped occupant. SPFD Rescue 1401, Engine 1401and Engine 1409 were able to rapidly locate the victim and remove them from the residence.

Despite the efforts of responding crews and EMS personnel, the victim unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We also commend the firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement officers who worked together on scene under extremely difficult times.

Please keep everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts. 🙏

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
