🔥 North View Fire District Making a Difference!

Today, our crews, focused their efforts on chipping branches from vegetation-thinning projects in the Pole Patch area of Pleasant View.

Homeowners have been hard at work thinning brush and reducing vegetation around their properties. These efforts help create defensible space and can slow the spread and reduce the intensity of a wildfire.

A big thank you to our residents for doing their part and to Weber Fire District for lending a hand! 🌲🚒

Training smarter. Staying ready.

Today, North View Fire District crews had the privilege of receiving hands-on instruction from Paul Roberts a member of West Jordan Fire Department, and the owner of The Sect Fitness. Paul was one of the subject matter experts who contributed his experience in strength, conditioning, movement, and firefighter fitness to Deputy Chief Jeremiah Jones’ Executive Fire Officer research project on firefighter injuries during physical training.

That research included 336 firefighters from 20 states, with 73% reporting they had witnessed a firefighter injured during PT and 73% saying their department did not have a standardized dynamic warm-up.

Paul, took those findings and helped develop a dynamic warm-up specifically for firefighters, designed to better prepare the body for both physical training and the demands of the job.

Physical fitness is essential in our profession, but how we prepare and train matters. Our goal is simple: reduce preventable injuries and keep our firefighters healthy, capable, and ready to serve.

Prepare your body. Protect your team. Perform your duty.

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget

This week, our crews commemorated 9/11 by visiting with Steve Casquarelli, who served with the FDNY during September 11th. Steve shared his experiences working at the command post, coordinating supplies and fireboats, and the emotional impact of continuing to serve in the aftermath of the attacks.

Today, our local Smith’s grocery store also provided lunch for our crews. We are grateful for their support and for all first responders who dedicate themselves to serving others.

To those who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11th, we will never forget. We honor your legacy by continuing to serve our communities. 🇺🇸

For the past two evenings, North View Fire District crews have assisted Morgan County with the Rocky Canyon Fire. The first night, our crew helped ensure back-burning operations stayed within established lines, and last night, crews assisted with structure protection.

With several fires burning across Utah, resources have been limited. While our crews assisted in Morgan County, additional North View firefighters were called back to ensure our community continued receiving excellent fire and medical protection.

We value the relationships we have with our neighboring agencies. During last year’s Willard Peak Fire, many agencies stepped up without hesitation to help us. We’re grateful for the opportunity to return that support and serve our neighbors when they need us most. 🚒🔥

**FIREWORKS RESTRICTIONS UPDATE**

Following approval by the Utah State Forester, consumer fireworks will be prohibited throughout Harrisville, North Ogden, and Pleasant View from July 22 through July 25, 2026.

We sincerely appreciate the feedback received following our earlier announcement of partial restrictions. North View Fire District and our city partners value community input.

The feedback identified a level of community concern that warranted another review of the earlier decision. After reassessing current local conditions with the mayors of all three cities, we concluded that requesting expanded restrictions on consumer fireworks was the most responsible course. The State Forester has approved those requests.

Our purpose is to “provide our communities with the peace of mind, compassionate care, and stability necessary to sustain a high standard of living.” We hope this change reinforces that commitment and demonstrates our willingness to listen, reassess, and respond.

Thank you for sharing your concerns and for your continued partnership in protecting our communities.
