Join us during the North Providence Police Department's Trunk or Treat event on Tuesday, October 27th, from 5:00pm-7:30pm inside the library for Halloween Safety Night!

Please enter through our main doors as the outside area is still under construction.

Visit with NP Rotary Club of North Providence, Cub Scout Pack 20 Johnston, Rhode Island, Mighty Minds, Tri-County Community Action Agency, Panorama Paranormal Carl Johnson, Adventures, Networking, Volunteering for Vegans (ANVV) -veg-curious welcome -, Ocean State Academy Learning Center, Laughing Elephant Yoga Community, Jennifer Rolfsema, and the library!

Take a tour of the library, and snap a picture in our selfie stations! It will be a "FRIGHT" to remember!

Free books will be provided by Books Are Wings! Free meal coupons will be provided by Raising Cane's Johnston.

We are THRILLED that so many of you have come to get FREE costumes at the North Providence Union Free Library which were generously donated by Angels' Care Closet!

As of noon, these are the costumes that are still available.

⚠️⚠️The library parking lot entrance will be closed, Thursday, 10/22/26 with limited parking from 9am-2pm. The library will remain OPEN as scheduled.

Our Thursday morning movie has been canceled.

Afternoon Book Bingo is also canceled.

Please use extreme caution when entering and exiting through the single pass-through. We ask that patrons park at the pool or high school if mobility allows.

Be aware of construction vehicles, cones, and workers directing traffic.

Our ribbon cutting yesterday afternoon for the new North Providence Community Learning Center at our North Providence Union Free Library!

The staff and town worked so hard to get these newly renovated spaces up and running with support from the state of RI. Thank you everyone for working tirelessly for these efforts. Thank you to our patrons for your patience. It's all for you!

Come by and use a new private study room for work or a health appointment. Visit the new computer lab or take a class in our new classroom. We'll be very happy to give you a tour!

Forestry for the Birds

Join us for an introduction & overview of the Forestry for RI’s Birds Project. Addressed will be declining forest songbird populations by creating & implementing sites & practices to enhance forest songbird habitat. Learn about the twelve forest birds identified by RI Woodland Partnership.

We welcome Paul Dolan, retired Deputy State Forester Scituate Tree Warden and RI Resource Conservation & Development Area Director to lead this presentation.

Program will be held on the 2nd floor Community Learning Center Classroom.
