The next DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back will take place on Saturday, October 24, 10AM - 2PM. The Scituate Police Department has partnered with the DEA and is an official collection site.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility. Drivers, please slow down, stay alert, and always stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. Pedestrians, remember to use designated crosswalks, stay visible, and remain aware of traffic around you.

With the Scituate Art Festival happening this weekend, we’re expecting increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the area.

🚗🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week

The Scituate Police Department, in partnership with the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association, reminds parents and caregivers that as children grow, their car seat and child restraint needs change too.

Make sure your child is riding safely by using the appropriate car seat or restraint based on their age, height, and weight. A properly fitted restraint can make all the difference in keeping our youngest passengers safe.

To avoid potential theft, residents are advised to keep their vehicles locked and free of valuable items, following several incidents reported to the Scituate Police Department.

These reports are not isolated to a specific area in town.

If you see suspicious activity, please report it immediately to the Scituate Police Department by calling 401-821-5900 and pressing 0 to speak with a dispatcher.
