We are two weeks away from our Annual Christmas at the Homestead event! This is such a fun family event that gets you into the holiday spirit. Hope to see you at the park soon!

With warm temperatures and cool Fall colors we are very busy with photos and trail use at the park. We would like to remind people to please be respectful of the park and all of the users. Please do not remove or move any of the Christmas lights for photo opportunities. If you do, please put them back. We are getting ready for a large event and would like to keep them in place. At this time of the year, dogs do not have to be on a leash, but they need to be under the owners control. They should be at least 100 feet away from another park user and always in your sight. Please pick up after your pet and have a leash on them on the homestead site. If you have an E-bike, please be careful of other park users on the trail. We have heard concerns of high rates of speed on the trails. Trail speed should be 15 mph. We appreciate everyone respecting all park users and we hope to see you at the park soon!

We would like to thank the staff from Meyer Brothers Funeral Home for volunteering their time to help with the Homestead Holidays event. They spent close to 3 hours wrapping trees with Christmas lights. We greatly appreciate their hardwork and time.

Update on our radio transmitter tagged Monarch butterflies. At least 10 have made it to Mexico and are getting detected each day. Parton seems to be our leader and has traveled the farthest into Mexico. She has traveled close to 1330 miles! Don't count the others out. They may still be flying and have not been detected yet. Download the Project Monarch app and follow the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks monarchs. It has been an incredible journey!
