NORTH BRANFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT – REQUEST FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
The North Branford Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance while we conduct and work through an ongoing investigation stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, October 9, 2026, on Totoket Road.
At approximately 3:48 a.m., officers responded to the area of the 900 block of Totoket Road following a report of two individuals dressed in dark clothing allegedly attempting to enter vehicles. During the incident, officers observed a black Chrysler 300 traveling at a high rate of speed south on Totoket Road.
This vehicle subsequently crashed and overturned near the 400 block of Totoket Road, ejecting both occupants. The two individuals, ages 17 and 18, sustained injuries and were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from Seymour earlier in the week. This incident remains under investigation, with criminal charges pending.
The North Branford Police Department is asking residents and businesses in the surrounding area to review any available security camera, surveillance, or doorbell camera footage recorded during the early morning hours of October 9, 2026. Investigators are particularly interested in footage that may have captured suspicious activity, individuals attempting to enter vehicles, or the Chrysler 300 traveling in the area before the crash.
The North Branford Police Department would like to thank the community for its assistance and cooperation throughout this investigation. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders and emergency personnel who worked at the scene, as well as the residents and motorists directly affected by the road closures, traffic delays, and other challenges associated with the investigation
Anyone with relevant information or video footage is asked to please contact Officer Larsen at [email protected] or contact our department at (203) 484-2703
