Dear Northglenn Middle School students and families,
I want to share an important update with you about our efforts to support student learning and well-being by reducing screen time for our students.
Starting next year, schools across our district, especially elementary and middle schools, will be taking steps to reduce the amount of time students spend on screens during the school day and while working on homework and other school projects at home.
As part of this effort, we will be collecting all middle school student Chromebooks before the last day of school. This supports the transition to a device-use model focused on reducing screen time. On Tuesday, May 19, all students are asked to bring their Chromebook and charger to school for collection.
Please remind your student to bring their Chromebook and charger to school on Tuesday, May 19.
Chromebook Changes for the Next School Year
Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 School Year, we want to inform you of a significant change to our middle school device policy.
Middle school students will no longer be bringing their Chromebooks home at the end of the school day.
Devices will remain on campus to be used primarily for learning activities during school hours.
This change is another step in our commitment to fostering a healthy balance between technology use, in-person connection and other learning tools. We will share more about these changes at the start of the new school year.
I appreciate your partnership and support as we make these important changes to benefit our students.
Respectfully,
Sarah Stone
Northglenn Middle School Principal
