BLAKEMAN WINS TONIGHT’S DEBATE. NEW YORK DESERVES TO WIN AGAIN
Statement from Suffolk County Republican Chairman Jesse Garcia

“Tonight, Bruce Blakeman delivered a decisive victory for common sense, accountability, and the hardworking taxpayers of New York State.

“While embattled Governor Kathy Hochul must defend her failed record of higher taxes, skyrocketing utility bills, reckless spending, and soft-on-crime policies, Bruce Blakeman offered New Yorkers something they desperately need: A clear vision, proven leadership, and a plan to make New York safer and more affordable.

“The contrast could not be clearer.

“Hochul represents more of the same. Blakeman represents the change New Yorkers deserve.

“Bruce Blakeman understands that families shouldn't have to choose between paying their utility bills and putting food on the table. He understands that taxpayers deserve protection from Albany's runaway spending, that law enforcement deserves our unwavering support, and that criminals—not law-abiding citizens—must be held accountable.

“Most importantly, Bruce understands what we have demonstrated here in Suffolk County: Good government makes good politics.

“Republicans have delivered safer communities, responsible fiscal leadership, and a commitment to protecting taxpayers, preserving our suburban quality of life, and defending the American Dream.

“Tonight, Bruce Blakeman made the case for bringing those same principles to Albany.

“New Yorkers have had enough excuses, enough finger -pointing, and enough failed leadership from Kathy Hochul and Albany's one-party Democrat rule.

“It's time to turn the page. It's time to restore accountability. It's time to elect Bruce Blakeman Governor!

“The Suffolk County Republican Committee stands united and energized to elect Bruce Blakeman our next Governor and serve as the Tip of the Republican Spear in the Hunt for a Republican November!

Do we really want a serial candidate who will say and do anything to be a state representative, a guy who has no community involvement whatsoever!

I brought millions of dollars into AD 12! I have worked with all my elected officials, from both sides of the aisle and extensively! And anytime Ed Smyth called to ask me for help I have delivered! Money for a Grinder for the Town Highway Department or money for Harbor Walk I have always answered the call! I keep my promises to my community!

Many thanks to SC GOP Chairman Jesse Garcia and SC Executive Ed Romaine for hosting today’s Meet and Greet Luncheon with the next Governor of New York- the Honorable Bruce Blackman.

I’ve know County Executive Blakeman for almost 20 years and not only is he a great person and a great public servant, but he will make an outstanding Governor!!!

He has the expertise and leadership skills that we we need to bring the Empire State back to what it was, control our spending and bring back solid policy.

For example, New York spends nearly $32,000 per student on public education — more than any other state. New York City spends almost $36,000 a kid.

Mississippi spends about $12,000.
Mississippi’s fourth graders still beat us in reading and math.

Just another example of why we need a new Governor and that’s why I’m supporting Bruce Blakeman to turn this state around!!

Please come out and support Dave Weber for NYS Assembly. Dave will fight for Long Island in Albany!

Today’s Meta Settlement: A Major Victory for Teen Mental Health!!!

A landmark settlement with Meta could reshape how teenagers use social media and could have a meaningful impact on teen mental health in the years ahead.

Under the proposed agreement, users under 18 would face a two-hour daily limit on Facebook and Instagram, along with a midnight-to-6 a.m. overnight restriction and limits on notifications during school hours. Parents would have greater control over whether certain restrictions can be changed.

For too many young people, social media has become an around-the-clock presence that can interfere with sleep, school, healthy relationships and emotional well-being. These safeguards are an important recognition that protecting children must come before maximizing screen time.

The settlement still requires court approval, but it could establish an important precedent for how technology companies are expected to protect young people online.
