Maybury State Park is a 944 acre urban, day use park in Northville, Michigan.

Maybury State Park contains almost 1,000 acres of gently rolling terrain, open meadow, mature forest, a variety of wildlife and abundant wildflowers, the park gives people an opportunity to get involved in outdoor recreation activities in a state park setting.

Maybury State Park is collecting toys for tots this holiday season. Please consider donating new/in box toys to help those in need. Toys can be dropped off at the park office located at 49601 Eight Mile Road, Northville Michigan 48167 during business hours (M-F). The drive continues from now until December 9th. The MTB Trail will open for riding on Sunday Oct 25th!!!

The new trail consists of three 2-mile loops to allow the rider to choose their own adventure. You can ride a 2, 4, or 6 mile lap. The western loop is considered the most advanced loop while the central is considered intermediate. The eastern loop is the most beginner friendly while still providing engagement to advanced riders. Also there are two optional skills/jump lines (pictured below) on the western and central loops. These optional sections will help the rider hone their skills with challenging banked corners and jumps. The trailhead is still in the same location and should be used to start your ride.

A big thanks to the Friends of Maybury State Park for their generous donation of this new water fountain/bottle filler at the trailhead shelter. We think this will be a great addition to the park!

The Eight Mile Road entrance is back open. Please use caution where workers are present as the striping and roadside work is completed. Enjoy the smooth new road!

The Eight Mile Road entrance is open for the weekend! FYI It will close again from 9/21-9/24 for the completion of the paving project.

Maybury State Park currently has no electricity. The park is open for use, however the modern restrooms are locked. Vault toilets are available throughout the park.

The 8 mile entrance road will be closed for repaving 9/8 - 9/10 and 9/14 - 9-17. During that time, only the Beck Road entrance will be open to vehicular traffic. All other pedestrian, equestrian, and bicycle entrances will be open.

What’s your favorite hiking spot at Maybury State Park? How about any of the surrounding state parks and rec areas? After polling the staff, most agree the hiking trail from the trailhead building to the pond is the most peaceful with a few votes coming in for the serenity of gas plant loop. Outside the park are two clear favorites, Penosha trail at Brighton Rec and the Hickory Ridge trail at Island Lake Rec Area. What say you?
