👏 Congratulations to the Norton Public Library!

The Norton Public Library has officially earned Autism Welcoming Certification through the Autism Alliance, recognizing its commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for individuals with autism and their families.

Library staff completed specialized training to better serve visitors with autism and sensory sensitivities, and the Library is putting that training into action. New Calm Kits are now available with noise-reducing ear protection, fidgets, sunglasses to reduce glare, and communication cards, with additional social-story resources planned for November.

This is another great example of our Town employees finding meaningful ways to make Norton more welcoming and accessible for everyone.

Thank you to Library Director Amanda Viana and the entire Norton Public Library team for your leadership and commitment to the community. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 💙📚

Governor Maura T. Healey has proclaimed September 28, 2026, as Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day, highlighting the importance of neighborliness, social connection, and belonging in communities across the Commonwealth. This year we are celebrating Good Neighbor Day September 25-29!

Communities are encouraged to celebrate in ways that reflect their own culture, character, and traditions. A Good Neighbor Day activity can be as simple as inviting neighbors for coffee, organizing a community walk, sharing a meal, checking on someone who lives alone, attending a local event together, volunteering, or introducing yourself to someone you have not met.

So we want to know: What's the nicest thing a neighbor has ever done for you? Let us know in the comments below!
