Help us celebrate our Warriors of the Week! These students consistently demonstrate the 3 Rs: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Succeed! πŸ“šπŸ‘

Their positive attitudes, responsible choices, and respect for others help make Norwalk Middle School a great place to learn and grow. We are so proud of these students for being wonderful examples of what it means to be a Warrior!

Keep up the great work, Warriors! Way to make Norwalk proud!

The Norwalk Middle School marching band took the field at our last home football game on October 16 and did an outstanding job! Following that experience, they participated in the Marching Band Rumble, an indoor exhibition showcasing both the middle and high school bands, where they even had the opportunity to perform with the high school marching band. Awesome experience for our band students!

In September, our sixth graders had an interactive day, immersing themselves in the setting of the book, Bud, Not Buddy. The book takes place in the Flint, Michigan area during the height of the Great Depression. All sixth graders worked through different stations to get an interactive experience of different elements of the Great Depression. They ate Depression-era food (Hoover Stew), learned how to play Depression-era games (Jacks and Marbles), and were challenged to build and create different items out of limited materials, making shoes, blankets, and a Hoover-ville-like structure out of just cardboard and newspapers.

🏐 8th Grade Volleyball Season Highlights! 🏐

What a great season for our 8th grade volleyball team! These girls put in the hard work at practice, continually building their skills and improving their game. Their dedication paid off when they stepped onto the court, and their growth was evident throughout the season. Beyond their skills, these Warriors showed what it truly means to be a team. They supported one another, celebrated each other's successes, and worked together every step of the way. Their teamwork and commitment made this season one to be proud of!

🏐 7th Grade Volleyball Season Highlights! 🏐

What a season for our 7th grade volleyball team! With 52 girls hitting the court, this season was full of growth, teamwork, and fun! For many of these girls, 7th grade volleyball was their very first experience playing a school sport, and they absolutely showed up and brought it! Throughout the season, they worked hard to balance school, friends, family, practices, and games. Whether they came in as experienced players or were learning the game for the very first time, every girl made tremendous progress.

One of their biggest focuses this season was learning to support one another, cheer each other on, and celebrate the little victories along the way. From daily practices to game-day moments, their growth was evident both on and off the court. Way to go, ladies! Your coaches are proud of you and all you accomplished this season! 🏐

The middle school cross country team had a great season despite many cancelled meets due to rain. The team learned a lot about distance running and did a great job building their endurance. The boys' team finished as Little Hawkeye Middle School team champions. The 8th-grade boys also won the Indianola Invite and placed 5th at the Washburn State Middle School Meet. The girls placed 5th at the Little Hawkeye Conference and 4th-place finishes at the Carr invitation at Ballard and the 7th-grade girls at the Indianola Invite. It was a great season full of a lot of learning and fun.
